East Linton Men's Shed and Poly tunnel Gardening Project
We are a unique group of volunteers, both ladies and gentlemen, working together in a Men's Shed and a Polytunnel.
Central to the village of East London we are based at the Mart, among many diverse cabins In an well-established trading community.
The Men's Shed has a well set up carpentry workshop and make a wide range of wooden items, restore garden furniture and repair household items needing fixing. It is also a place where you can socialise with other men.
The Polytunnel offers opportunities for both men and women to learn how to grow your own produce or herbaceous plants, or help with the general maintenance of the raised beds at the Mart. At different seasons of the year there are always things to do, and even if it is raining, it is nice and dry in the Polytunnel and you can sit and have a cup of tea and not worry about the weather outside.
Both the Men's Shed and the Polytunnel welcome local people who would like some company and conversation, alongside doing some interesting activities depending on what you like to do. If you have skills and would like to share them, or if you would like to come along to learn and see what we do, and maybe become a volunteer, please get in touch.
In the summer we meet up a few times a week, and in the autumn and winter once a week, but this can varying depening on the weather and what projects are on the go.
