2.0 MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING HELD ON 6TH NOVEMBER 2008
Mr Robson asked that under 13.0 and after Lafarge VIP day the date 31st Oct be inserted and after wind turbines be added ..and details of a planned feasibility study. Otherwise it was agreed to be a correct record of the meeting.
3.0 POLICE REPORT
The main thrust of the report was the spate of car thefts and garage breakins in East Linton in the past week. Pc Hughes told the meeting that in each case the cars and garages were not secure and the public must ensure that vehicles and garages are locked.
4.0 MATTERS ARISING
4.1 The money for the walks leaflets has not been received but is in the pipeline. There is no sign of the signposts as yet and the trees for the Markle have been received and await planting.
4.2 Mr Russell agreed to write the January article for ELDA.
4.3 Mrs Priest reported that the footbridge had been painted, the steps repaired but that the approach path still needs attention.
4.4 Mr Craighead reported that the ground area where the lights have been installed requires reinstatement, He also reported that the broken goal post had still not been replaced. These will be taken forward ,
4.5 It was reported that new criteria is awaited in respect of the speed reactive signs and it suggested we reapply in February
4.6 The production team were congratulated on the latest issue of the Dunpender News.
4.7 The meeting was advised that all outstanding matters in respect of the Christmas market had been resolved .
5.0 TREASURER’S REPORT
The balance in the current account stands at £950.64 which includes £270 received for adverts in the Dunpender News.
The balance in the Grants account is £4767.60. The treasurer asked that payments to individuals which had to be made in a hurry should be made by him and he would obtain reimbursement.
6.0 LOCAL PRIORITIES BUDGET

7.0 TYNINGHAME,WHITEKIRK & MARKLE ISSUES
Flooding-Markle. ELC made aware of problem and will investigate. Street lights -Whitekirk . An approach for heritage lights to be considered is to be made by Mr Hill.
8.0 TRAPRAIN & WHITTINGEHAME ISSUES
Road to Whittingehame Church. No success as yet in determining as to who is responsible for the approach road to the Church. Ms Cosgrove to make further enquiries.
9.0 PLANNING MATTERS
Phantassie- The Council were generally in favour of the proposed scheme. However reservations were expressed about the proposed size of the car park as taking up too large an area and more landscaping is needed to conceal it.
Other concerns centred round increased traffic flows through East Linton and possible competition threats to local businesses.
10.0 TOWN MAINTENANCE/TOURISM INITIATIVES
Benches to be sited at Knowes and Stories Park- R. Russel to contact ELC

11.0 PUBLIC TRANSPORT/RAGES
Ms Cosgrove reported that she had attended a transport forum where the provision of adequate bus services was seen as an important issue in East Lothian especially for those areas not served by the coastal or A1 corridor services.
