What does Dunpender Community Council do?
We are a group of 11 volunteers, elected every three years under the Scheme for Community Councils set up in 1976
We act as go-between for residents and ELC and other public bodies
We aim to make Dunpender the best it can be as a place to live, work or visit
Creating and maintaining path networks
Information boards and maps
Leaflets of walks and things to see and do
Building and repairing benches
Support for street planting of baskets and flowerbeds
Monitoring road safety and obtaining Speed Reactive signs
Pavement repairs
Reporting faulty street lights and potholes
Planning applications ñ scrutinising and objecting if necessary, checking on breaches
Replying to consultations on service provision of all kinds.
