So, A few words from Chris himself:
"Well thats it, Iíve finally completed my challenge (thank goodness) and now need to reach far and wide to hit my fundraising target."
Chris lives and works in East Linton has taken on an extra ordinary set of challenges for 2018. Some details from the Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity are below:
Chris Rhodes took on the AMAZING challenge of completing 18 challenges in 2018 for us here at Edinburgh Childrenís Hospital Charity. This came about after his daughter fell poorly just before Christmas 2017 and was rushed into The Royal Hospital for Sick Children. Thankfully, Sophie was back just in time to celebrate her Christmas with her family and they are happy to say that she is now well on the mend and back to the alert, active and feisty wee girl they all know and love!
Chris said "Our time and experiences in ward 3 particularly made us extremely grateful for the extra little things that we just hadn't expected, like the visits from the Indian Dancers, from Hibs and Hearts Players (much to her brotherís delight), from Edinburgh Rugby Players (much to her motherís delight) from Clowns, Comedians and even Santa himself (on two occasions despite his busy schedule) not to mention the painting, drawing, ginger-bread and t-shirt decorating. It is wonderful to see in action the subtle but tangible difference which this all makes on a day to day basis, as they try to make sure that all the patients can be allowed to be kids first and sick kids second."
This was when the #18for18 was born, Chris took on the challenge to complete 18 obstacle course race events in 2018 - Rat Race Adventure Sports, Tough(er) Mudder Scotland, Scottish Half Marathon etc. - and raising what he can to help the Edinburgh Childrenís Hospital Charity continue to be the difference that allows the kids to be a child first and patient secondí.
Good luck Chris, you are AWESOME!
